The following is a health alert from the desk of Marcus A. Conant, M.D.
Presentations at the 2009 ICAAC (Interscience Conference on Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy) made it clear that many clinics are not doing rectal pap smears on men and women with a history of anal warts. Dr. Conant feels that anyone who has ever had an anal wart should have a rectal pap smear each year.
